Jaguar Cars USA: Jaguar in America
COMMEMORATIVE COMPANY HISTORY BOOK
Second edition of a 50-year history of Jaguar Cars in North America. Written by John Dugdale, former public relations manager and automotive historian, the first edition traced Jaguar's introduction to the American market in 1949 through to its acquisition by Ford Motor Company in 1989. In the second edition updated to 2001, editor Michael J. Cook makes the case that "America saved Jaguar" during this intervening period. The marque's earlier golden years are celebrated through colorful collections of advertising by notable photographers and art directors. Each chapter places Jaguar's evolution within the context of major world events and tracks the marque's close affiliation with the Grand Prix racing circuit.
